Abstrax

Licence

The Abstrax command line tool is open source software. This page summarises the licence terms; the full legal text is in the repository.

Apache License 2.0

Abstrax is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. The SPDX identifier is Apache-2.0.

Under this licence you may use, modify, and distribute the Abstrax source code and binaries, subject to the conditions in the licence. These include retaining copyright and licence notices, stating significant changes when you distribute modified versions, and including a copy of the licence with any distribution.

The Apache License 2.0 also includes an express grant of patent rights from contributors, with termination if you initiate patent litigation against the project.

What is covered

The licence applies to the Abstrax CLI: the Go source in the cli/ directory of the abstrax repository, and the binaries built from it.

Plugins are separate projects. Each plugin carries its own licence, which is recorded in the plugin registry when it is published. See Registry submission for the metadata Abstrax expects from plugin authors.

Trademarks

The Apache License 2.0 does not grant trademark rights. The Abstrax name, logo, and branding are not licensed for unrestricted use. You may not use the branding to imply endorsement or to present modified versions as official Abstrax releases.
